Instructions:

Activate the Yeast:


In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.

Prepare the Dough:


In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, yogurt, and ghee.

Mix the ingredients together to form a soft dough.

Knead the Dough:


Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

First Rise:


Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

Divide and Shape:


Preheat your oven to the highest setting (usually around 500°F or 260°C).

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small balls (about golf ball size).

Roll each ball into an oval or round shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Bake or Cook on Stovetop:


Oven Method: Place the rolled naan on a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 6-8 minutes, or until puffed and lightly golden.

Stovetop Method: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Place the rolled naan on the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until it puffs up and gets golden brown spots.

Apply Butter or Ghee:


Brush the freshly cooked naan with melted butter or ghee for added flavor.

Serve Warm:
